The Communications Committee is responsible for all
communications with the membership, the media, the
general public, and general Williamson County area.
It does this through creating and disseminating a
newsletter, a web site, press releases, and direct
e-mail to the membership, among other means.

The Finance committee works with the Treasurer
to address financial issues. It identifies and recommends
appropriate investment opportunities to maximize the return
on CHS funds. When necessary, it analyzes unusual expenditures
and makes recommendations to the Treasurer for presentation
to the Board of Directors. At the appropriate time each year,
the committee works with the Treasurer to both reconcile the
current budget and prepare a working budget for the following
year.

The Membership Committee encourages new people to become active members
and ensures that all members are made to feel a welcome part of our community.
To this end, it phones and visits new and prospective members, greets them at services,
and plans quarterly new member get-togethers.

Havurah Shalom is a family. Members are here for one another and it is
everyone's wish to lend a hand to a fellow member in a time of need. The
Mi Sheberach/Caring Committee provides temporary help to congregants
experiencing illness, incapacity, crisis or other trauma.
The committee also serves as a resource for information on support
networks, locates and/or provides intermittent services on an "as needed"
or "as requested" basis.

The Outreach Committee functions and purposes are:
1. Participate in charitable programs to connect with and benefit the community at large
2. Develop interfaith programs with local churches and similar groups
3. Forge connections with Jewish religious and cultural groups in the region.

The Programs & Education Committee is responsible for locating and coordinating
speakers/programs for Shabbat and other events. It also coordinates continuing
education opportunities within CHS. The committee makes recommendations to the
Board of Directors on subject matter, prices and format. The committee will run,
oversee and evaluate those approved programs and make recommendations based on
their experience.

The Social Committee schedules diverse events such as theater
outings, sporting events, game nights, and picnics.

The Religious Events Committee coordinates, schedules and recruits persons to host
religious events, festivals and holiday celebrations and observances. It oversees
all arrangements for these events.
The Oneg Shabbat sub-committee is responsible for identifying members (hosts)
to provide snacks and drinks following services, and to oversee provisioning
necessary supplies. It also instructs and guides hosts in these duties.

The Ritual Committee is responsible for the mode and manner of worship for CHS. It coordinates
Shabbat, Holy Days, Festival celebrations and worship services with the
Program & Education Committee.

The Constitution & Bylaws Committee is responsible for reviewing and recommending changes to the existing
CHS Constitution & Bylaws as deemed appropriate. These changes are recommended to the Board and Congregation.

The Long Range Planning Committee is responsible for evaluating the future wants and needs of the membership.
Recommend long range goals to the Board and Congregation.

The committee identifies various opportunities to raise money for CHS and charitable endeavors.
